May Favourites

Hello everyone.

It's that time of the month again where I share what I've been loving this month of May.

I'm kind of glad May has gone super quick as I'm dead excited for June! I'm seeing 5 Seconds of Summer, Fleetwood Mac and I'm going to Glastonbury! Gahhh cannot wait!

So, onto what I've been loving this month....

First up is this super cute skirt from ASOS which has become one of my favourite things to wear. You've probably seen it in a few outfit posts so I won't go into too much detail, but it's fab. You can style it with ankle boots, converse, wedges, whatever top... so versatile.

I adore this bronzer from Barry M. It's so perfect for contouring as it is more ashy tone and build-able so you won't end up looking like an umpa lumpa. It's not only dead cheap, but also used by Perrie Edwards so you can also get cracking cheekbones like the future Mrs Malik.

This conditioner has become my all time fave. It's from Bleach London and a little goes a looong way. It makes my hair really soft and I can actually brush through it in the shower. Now, that's my kind of conditioner.

Now, this backpack may look like it doesn't fit much in, but it does, trust me. I was really lucky that I was given this bag for free from Warehouse when I interned there for one week along with lots of other goodies. I've worn this bag the majority of May because it's a nice size, colour and well, cute.

If you want to read a hilarious book on the crazy world of fashion, this is it! This book has many stories on Angela Clarke's career in the industry and I honestly could not put it down (that's rare, I don't read often). It's so funny and some of the stories may sound crazy, but in this industry some of them did not surprise me. Go buy it, you won't regret it.

What were your May faves?

OOTD - Boho Loving

Hello everyone.

Now if you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know I adore the 70's trend. I love a good pair of flares, fringing and basically whatever is linked to the 1970's I'll happily wear. Which leads me to this outfit....

I love love love this top! It's from H&M's collaboration with Coachella and it's so beaut. I'm not going to lie, the buttons are a bit of a nightmare to undo but other than that it's the perfect top. I love the shape and the detailing. I'll definitely be bringing this to Glasto.

To add to the 70's hippy vibe, I wore my fave denim flares. I really want another pair as they are so wearable and are the easiest way to rock this trend.

Finishing the outfit, I wore my double zipped heeled ankle boots and my ying and yan necklace.

Top - H&M
Flares - Liquor and Poker (ASOS)
Boots - Schuh
Necklace - Moncou Jewellery

Have you been working the 70's trend?

Festival Essentials Guide

Hello everyone.

Festival season is officially upon us and I for one am super excited about it!

I adore festivals and I'm finally going to Glasto for the first time after an 8 year wait for someone to go with me. My friend and I were so lucky to get tickets in the re-sale at the end of April and I can't believe we go in 1 month time ahhhhh.

So, in the light of me being a little bit of a pro when it comes it festivals having been to Reading 3 times, I thought I'd do a bit of an essentials post for you first timers ranging from beauty, to clothing items and the odd random item thrown in.

First up, clothing....

I'm going to do another post with festival outfit ideas for you all, however in the mean time I thought I'd share items you 100% want to take with you.
So first up, a rain mac. The english weather is so unpredictable that you don't want to be caught out in the rain and have crappy hair that you can't style and sort out until you can shower at home 4 days later so this is a must. I actually have this one and it's from ASOS and is going to be perfect at Glasto. Not only is it bright so my friend will ever lose me, but it's pretty warm too which will be great for drinking round the camp fire.
Next up wellies. Again, a must even if it's crazy hot and dry the day you leave, the chances of it turning into a storm and mud everywhere, quite high. These ones are the classic festival goers choice from Hunter and are really comfy for the 4 days you're going to live in them.
Ahh the bum bag. Hated by some and loved by me. This one from Boohoo is perfect as one, it's black and will go with all your outfits and two, it has a few compartments and is the perfect size to fit your phone and purse in.
The forth thing you should never forget is your sunnies. What's worse than it finally being warm and bright if you've forgotten your sunglasses and can't see your favourite act because you're being blinded? The worse. These cuties are from ASOS and will suit every face shape.
Finally, a flower crown. I bloody love flower crowns. I used to wear them all the time even when I wasn't in a field and a festival is the perfect place to rock them. The bigger the better I say. This beaut is from Mini Bow Chic's Etsy account.

Next up, beauty....
Lets face it. You're in a field and your skincare regime consisting of cleanser, toner, serums, moisturisers etc goes out the window. Who has time for that / there is no sink in sight. So what's the best thing to bring? Garnier's mincellar water of course. This stuff will take your makeup off and give it a good clean so you don't feel too vile about not washing your face properly for what feels like forever. The good thing is it comes in a mini size too so perfect to pop in your bag.
Next up is dry shampoo and baby wipes. These two products will become your best friend. I'm quite lucky, my hair doesn't really get greasy that quickly which is why I only wash my hair twice a week, so it's not a crazy adjustment for me. However, I do always pack a dry shampoo. I love this one by Fudge Urban as it smells good and does the job well. Your next best friend will be baby wipes. I always pack these Johnson's ones with me for a good old baby wipe shower. Yes that is what you'll be doing in your tent.
Now the two makeup items I feel everyone should bring is your favourite bold lipstick and a pair of lashes. I tend to bring my Mac Ruby Woo as it's the best red lip and just makes you feel and look a tad better when you've not been getting much sleep. Which leads me to lashes. You may be thinking why would you bother? But, lashes will open your eyes and make you look more awake and girls, it only takes 2 minutes to put on. These two items are little life savers for me.

Finally, random but a must....

If you're bringing your iPhone then you will 100% need a wireless charger as we all know iPhones have awful battery unless you don't use it. This one is from Amazon and comes in 4 different colours. You can get these anywhere. My sister bought me one for £5 from Pound stretcher and it works great.
Now the last thing I personally think everyone should bring to a festival. That is, a disposable camera. These are the best as you can take so many photos and you don't know how they turn out until you get them developed. I love the photos they produce because you forget that you took a photo of that memory and just in general the quality is just so old school, I love it!

Let me know if you've found this post helpful!

OOTD - All Black Everything

Hello everyone.

Happy Friday and Bank Holiday to all my fellow Brits! (I'm currently writing this post on Sunday so I'm still so far away from my 3 day weekend)

Don't get me wrong, I love this outfit but I don't know why but I feel I look like a 90's New York drama student! I think it's the all black and roll neck.

Moving swiftly on.... I adore these jeans! I've had the photo on my phone since around February time and I've only just got round to buying them. They're from ASOS and fit me perfectly! I also love the washed black denim as I think I've kind of gone off fully black jeans, I'm not sure why.

I wore my black roll neck jumper with my faux fur gilet and my cute little burgundy loafers to add to my drama student esque look.

Gilet - Primark
Jumper - Topshop
Jeans - ASOS
Shoes - Schuh

Best Dressed At The Billboard Awards 2015

Hello everyone.

Today I'm talking the annual Billboard Music Awards. You know me, love an awards do. All eyes were on One Direction as they made their first red carpet appearance as a foursome (it still hurts). Eyes were also on Taylor Swift as she not only made her first public appearance with new beau Calvin Harris, (how fricking cute are they?!) but also her much anticipated Bad Blood music video was released.

The wait for that video was definitely worth it! Although I must be a bit of an annoying picky person but.... I don't think I like the version she has chosen to release. Don't get me wrong I bloody love Kendrick and when I heard he was going to be on the track I squealed but, why was the majority of the song cut? Like why did Taylor only sing the chorus? I just feel like it's not going to get as much air play as it would of done if she'd kept it as the girl power anthem that it is on the album.

Anyway, rant over, onto the outfits.

My best dressed featured yet again Taylor, Kendall and Zendaya who is slowly becoming one of my most look forward to people on the red carpet.

Kendall was wearing Balmain x HM and I cannot wait to fight with someone over that blazer! Bring on November 5th.

Makeup Of The Day

Hello everyone.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Today I'm sharing with you a makeup look that I've been loving recently. The products I used are a mix of high end and drugstore. Sometimes I find drugstore products are just as good as high end, although foundation wise, I much prefer high end. I think it's because drugstore foundation just doesn't agree with my skin so much. It never really stays put and doesn't give me enough courage. I do wish I could find one that worked amazing for me then I could spend a lot less money!

So, face wise, I used the following...

I applied Benefit's Porefessional on my forehead, nose area and a tiny bit on my chin then proceeded with applying my holy grail foundation of choice, Estee Lauder's Double Wear. Moving onto concealer I actually use two (I know, diva much?) I apply Benefit's Boiing under my eyes then Smashbox's new 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer to my cheeks to try and conceal my scars and any spots I may have. I actually only bought this a few weeks ago and it's pretty good. Only downside is it leaks out the bottle as you can see in the photo. I then use Rimmel's Stay Matte powder under my eyes and Loreal's Nude BB Powder on my t-zone area. The next step I did is a light contour using Barry M's Natural Dazzle . I won't go into too much detail as this will be included in my May Favourites post... The final step face wise is Lord & Berry's highlighter which I applied on the top of my cheekbones.

Moving onto eyes and lips...

I first sort my eyebrows out as I feel a bit more together when they're done. I love Anastasia Beverley Hills Pomade as it darkens my brows and they don't budge which is what every girl wants. I then applied a little bit of Benefit's Stay Don't Stray to my eyelids so my eyeshadow doesn't slip and slide everywhere. Eye wise I used my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and applied Booty Call to my whole lid then Chopper to the outer corner and then finally, Half Baked to the centre of my lid. I finished my eye look by plastering on lots of Max Factor's 2000 Calorie mascara to my lashes.

The final stage of this makeup look which shall be revealed below is lips. I love love love this lip liner from Barry M! It was only like £2 and is fab. I line my lips then colour my whole lip with it then apply Barry M's Lip Gloss in toffee. Which FYI smells like toffee, yum!

So how did this look turn out you ask? Get ready for some posy pictures....

Hope you like this look. Let me know what you think and what you're favourite makeup looks are!

Skincare Repurchases

Hello everyone.

Today is all about skincare and what products I continue to repurchase.

I love when you find products that you love and will always buy (although sometimes I fear loving them too much incase they get discontinued). I think because I have quite sensitive, sometimes dry, sometimes oily on my t-zone and used to be very acne prone skin, when I find something that works, I love it to death and tell everyone about it.

I cannot harp on anymore about the amazingness that is mincellar cleansing water. I first was introduced to this in February 2014, although initially I used Bioderma (still a love of mine) however, Garnier's version is just as good, easier to get a hold of and a lot cheaper. I love using this to take my makeup off as it is so gentle on my skin. I was at a friends house a few weeks ago and borrowed a wipe and forgot how rough it is on my skin. Once you go micellar you never go back.

For many years I've been looking for an exfoliate that wouldn't turn my skin red after use and this little lovely is the one. I've talked about REN's Micro Polish Cleanser in a few posts so won't go on too much, but it really is great. I first picked it up as a sample size back in December and then picked up a normal size tube in January and it's just perfect. It removes dry skin, makes my skin super soft and most importantly, not red.

These next two products I'm literally always talking about because they are just too good!

First up is the fabulous moisturiser in Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. This is the best moisturiser I've ever come across, and believe me, I've tried A LOT! I first heard about it during every Pixiwoo YouTube videos, probably about 2 years ago now. However, I'd always forget to write it down to remember to look into it and buy. Finally about 8 months ago I bought some and it has changed my life. I'm not even exaggerating. My skin can get pretty dry sometimes and this product is so hydrating and in no way greasy. It's a cult product always spotted backstage at fashion week and it's rumoured even Simon Cowell uses it.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo needs no introduction. This product has been a firm favourite of mine for over a year now. Again, I've spoken a few times about this product so will keep it short. It's amazing, go buy.

My final skincare item I continue to repurchase is Soap and Glory's Smoothie Lightly Whipped Body Butter. I love this stuff so much. It smells AMAZING and is very hydrating on my skin. My legs can get quite dry especially in winter and this stuff is a life saver. The tub lasts quite some time too as a little goes a long way. Definitely one of my favourite body butters EVER.

What are some of your skincare repurchases?

Best Dressed At The Met Gala 2015

Hello everyone.

This post is a day late as I ended up going to see Cinderella with my mum instead of writing this. It was such a magical film. I thought I may be a bit too old to enjoy it but, it was great. I adored her ball and wedding dress, so beautiful.

Anyway, onto some more magical dresses...

So on Monday night as you're all aware, was the annual Met Gala in New York. AKA another reason for us mere folk to eye up some cracking dresses worn by our favourite celebs.

There were a few that caught my eye, however Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lawrence and Sophie Turner were my absolute faves...

Teeth Whitening Challenge

Hello everyone.

Happy bank holiday! Today was a great day waking up on a Monday and not having to go to work wasn't it? Ahh, got to love May.

So, today I'm doing a slightly different post for you all in the sense that I'm setting myself a challenge and you will all be updated with my progress.

For many years now I've wanted the Hollywood smile aka, super white teeth. Now I'm not going to lie, as you can see from the below picture, my teeth aren't that bad but I'd still like them a lot whiter.

I was tempted to save money and get them whitened professionally however, seeing as there is so many products on the high street I thought, why not give them a try first and if all goes to plan I will of saved myself hundreds!

So, how am I going to achieve that Hollywood white smile you ask?

I was in Boots on Saturday and picked up Colgate's Max White One Active toothpaste and mouthwash (which was on offer guys) and it promises to give you one shade lighter teeth in just one week. Sounds great right! I also picked up from Superdrug a white ago however never opened it so it's all good, this pd Beauty Sleep serum which you apply to your teeth and gums every evening after brushing your teeth and leave it to work its magic overnight. It was only a couple of quid too so thought I'd give it a shot.

I started this process yesterday so I shall take a photo of my teeth each week and give you all an update in one month.

In addition to these products, I've stopped drinking my beloved Diet Coke and have been drinking a lot more water lately which I think is going to help too.

Have you tried any teeth whitening products?

April Favourites

Hello everyone.

It's that time of the month again where I fill you in with what I've been loving this April. I literally cannot believe it is May already. Seriously what the hell?! This means, it almost been 1 year since I handed my dissertation and business plan in and finished Uni. Oh my god.

This months favourites consists of makeup, skincare and a random one thrown in.

My first favourite is Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette. My sister bought me this for Christmas after I decided I wanted to start wearing eye shadow more. This past month I've been using this palette even more and I love it! Yes, I admit, I'm a bit late on the band wagon but it really is a perfect palette. I've been wearing Booty Call, Chopper and Tease the most this month.

The next product I've been loving this month is this hand cream from Cien. My mum picked it up for me from either Lidl or Aldi after I was complaining about how dry my hands have gotten. I think it was only £1 maybe £2 but its amazing! It leaves my hands really soft and hydrated without leaving them feeling greasy. Such a bargain!

I spoke briefly about this product in my Evening Pamper Routine post which you can read more on here. I've just become obsessed with this Rosehip Oil from Trilogy. I've been using it every evening for the past 2 months and I really think it has made a slight, slight, slight improvement to my acne scars. So I really recommend this oil. Like I've said before, if it's good enough for the future Queen, it's good enough for me.

My final favourite this month is one of the reason I have been blogging less lately. Let me introduce you to Friday Night Lights. It originally aired from 2006 - 2011 however I don't ever remember it airing in the UK as I watch a lot of telly and feel I would not have missed this. It has a few faces in it you may recognise like Shane from Greys Anatomy, Matt from The Vampire Diaries, Vivian from AHS and Todd from Breaking Bad. All 5 seasons are on Netflix and if you loved One Tree Hill you'll adore this!

What have been your favourites in April?
