My Evening Pamper Routine

Hello everyone.

Today I'm doing something new for me which is to give you an insight into my evening pamper routine. I personally love these types of posts because its a good way to see what other people love and normally temps me into buying new things.

I do a pamper evening once a week without fail because I think you should always give your skin a bit of love considering the amount you put it through everyday. I normally do this on a Saturday or Sunday.

I also think the reason I'm so obsessed with skincare is because I suffered from really bad acne as a teen, so bad I was put on Roacutane which the dermatologist only prescribes if its super bad, because there were some cases of suicides (I thankfully only gained dry skin.) So I think thesis why I love to treat my skin and hear about new products that could well, change my life.

So, onto what I actually do...

Step 1 - If I have been wearing makeup that day I remove it with my trusty Garnier Mincellar Cleansing Water. I love this stuff as it gets rid of all my makeup and it is much more gentle than wipes. If I haven't been wearing makeup that day then I won't do this step.

Step 2 - I use this amazing exfoliant from REN which is the Micro Polish Cleanser. I love this so much! It really buffs away any dry skin and even though it is a scrub, it doesn't leave my skin red or feeling like I have exfoliated.

Step 3 - I apply Sanctuary's 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask all over my face and leave it for 10 minutes as I feel 5 just isn't enough. This mask is great because it starts to heat up as you rubbed it into your skin and when you wash it off, it leaves my skin feeling super clean and fresh.

Step 4 - The next step is another mask in the cult product that is REN's Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask. This mask is just fabulous! It was included in my February favourites if you want to read more. I leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it off and my skin feels so soft! I find my makeup the next day always applies smoother when I use this.

Step 5 - The next product I use is something I've been using for over a year now and I really can't get enough! It's another favourite amongst bloggers in, La Roche-Posay Effacular Duo. I apply this to areas of my skin that are slightly red so my cheeks, and also to areas such as my chin and forehead just out of paranoia to prevent spots. I've been obsessed with this product for so long because it's just amazing and lasts FOREVER! I've been using this since February 2014 and this is only my 3rd bottle. When I have a spot I put it on and it clears much faster than before I used to use it.

Step 6 - After I have applied my Effacular Duo, I leave my skin for around 15 minutes then I put a pea size amount of Tretinoin cream all over my face. During the summer I started a course of 5 sessions of Derma Pen to help reduce the appearance of my acne scars and the doctor recommended getting this cream. Tretinoin is used to treat fine wrinkles, dark spots or rough skin on the face caused by damaging sun rays. It works by lightening the skin, replacing older skin with newer skin and slowing down the way the body removes skin cells that may have been harmed by the sun. I only use it once a week as I found when I used it 2-3 times a week it dried by skin out as that is one of the side effects. It is however good to have in my routine as its a vitamin A cream which is recommended to have in your routine. Plus if it can prevent fine lines, I'm all for it!

Step 7 - The penultimate step is my moisturiser. I use a different cream in the evening mainly to save my Embryolisse Lait-Creme. The moisturiser I use is actually from Primark's PS Love range. It is their 8 Hour Deep Hydration Face Cream. I apply this all over my face and neck about 20-30 minutes after applying my Tretinoin cream. I really like this moisturiser as it isn't greasy on my skin and at about £2, you really can't go wrong.

Step 8 - The final step in my pamper evening routine is an oil in the, Trilogy Rosehip Oil. Kate Middleton actually uses this hence the reason I had to buy! It is meant to help with scars, stretch marks and so on. Kind of like bio oil. I'm not going to say to much about this product as it is in my April Favourites post which will be up on Friday, so you'll have to wait and see....

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know what you like to use when you're having a little pamper session.
