Best Dressed At The Grammy Awards 2015

Hello everyone.

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Today I'm talking Grammy's. I was so happy that Sam Smith picked up 4 awards! His album is fabulous. I remember when it first came out last May and I had it on repeat for weeks!

Although I must say, I'm still not over the fact that Lana Del Rey still hasn't been nominated for a Grammy yet. Not cool Grammy's, not cool.

Moving on... Here are my favourite looks from last nights awards...

Now can we all just take a minute to take in Rihanna's fairy tale gown. I fell in love with this Giambattista Valli gown when I saw it floating down the catwalk a few weeks ago and who better to pull it off than Rihanna. I think a lot of people were taken back when Rihanna chose this as its not a typical Rihanna look, but girl did you look great! 

Miss Taylor Swift, can you do no wrong when it comes to red carpet? No, I don't think you can. Tay has been killing it for years on the red carpet, but these last few months especially, she has been putting out all stops to be queen of the red carpet look. I'm a massive fan of Elie Saab and think that Taylor is the perfect person to pull off Elie's creations. The dress is just so magically I can't stop staring.

My final fav outfit came from our very own Brit, Jessie J. Jessie looked stunning in this Ralph and Russo gown. I love everything about it and thought she looked like a show stopper.

OOTD - Velma 70's Inspired

Hello everyone.

I think we may be getting out of winter you know. It really isn't that cold today.

My outfit today was slightly inspired by Velma from Scooby Doo ( I used to love that show so much as a child.)

Today I'm wearing one of my gran's coats she left me. I really love these types of coats as they can smarten up any outfit and I feel like a detective. How Velma of me.

To really bring a Velma esque to the outfit, I wore my white high neck jumper with my burgundy cord button up skirt. I love this combo together as I'm really into the 70's era at the minute.

To finish the outfit I wore my croc ankle boots and my super cute boy/girl kissing necklace. I actually bought this necklace when I was about 10 years old from Argos. I stumbled upon it in the summer and I've fallen back in love with it.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation Review

Hello everyone.

Today I am talking about the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. So if you want to hear what I think of it, read on.

I was really excited to use this foundation as I've heard a lot of good things about it from reading other blogs. Also, I was hoping to find a drug store foundation I could start to use instead of breaking the bank.

I bought the shade 010 Light Porcelain because, well, I'm super pale. I absolutely love the colour, it's the perfect shade for my skin tone. Normally I have to brush the excess foundation on my brush slightly down my neck to give a more even finish however, with this foundation it truly was the perfect match that I never needed to. Also, considering its a drug store foundation, Rimmel has produced a great shade for us paler folk. 

Now to get to the negative. If I'm totally honest, I don't really like this foundation. I love it when I first apply it and the first I'd say 2-3 hours it still looks ok, but then it goes downhill. 

To give a brief history on my skin, I suffered really really bad acne when I was 16 and I still have blemish marks on my cheeks and quite bad scarring on my cheeks too. I occasionally still get the odd spot now and again on my chin and jawline otherwise, I'm pretty spot free. I do however still suffer from a slight oily t-zone and my skin can get a bit dry. More dry than oily in the winter and the opposite in summer. 

So I like a foundation that is more high coverage to cover my blemish marks and try and conceal as much of my scars as possible. I do also like a more dewy finish than matte as I find matte foundations tend to cling to my skin more.

So, going back to the Wake Me Up foundation. I found I needed two layers of foundation as well as concealer to give me the coverage I wanted which, I didn't mind too much. The real issue for me was that the more the day went on, the finish just didn't really look great. It looked quite bumpy on my chin after a while and it would almost be fully off my nose even with a powder. I also remember one day, I itched my forehead and when I looked in the mirror my foundation had moved.

In my opinion I think this foundation is better suited to people with pretty clear but mainly normal skin.

It's a shame because it was only £5.99 on offer compared to my Estee Lauder Double Wear which is £29.50.

I think I will definitely try this foundation again in a few months time when my skin changes again as you never know it might not suit me now. That happened with me and Nars Sheer Glow. I really didn't like it at first then left it for about 3 months then loved it.

OOTD - 70's Vibe

Hello everyone.

I was feeling really 70's this morning which inspired this outfit.

So today I wore my super warm Primark faux white gillet with just a simple white long sleeve top, and my oh so 70's palazzo trousers. I actually bought these about 4 years ago and I can not for the life of me think where from as there's no label on them. See, sometimes being a hoarder comes in handy. 

I finished the outfit with the most comfiest heeled boots from Schuh and my fabulously fake Chanel bag. My dad bought this for me when he was in Hong Kong about 6 years ago from the famous markets. How real does it look though?!

Primark Haul

Hello everyone.

Today is all about a recent Primark haul with one product from Missguided. I bought these items from both the Milton Keynes and Glasgow store.

Lets start with this fabulous coat. Now I was upstairs in the MK store and I was coming down the escalator when I saw this and I pretty much ran down the escalator to get to it. It was only £25 and comes in 2 maybe 3 other colours. I was actually in Paddington station the other day and a lady came up to me and asked "what brand is your coat?" When I told her it was Primark and the price, she replied, "I thought it was Burberry". So ladies, snap this up!

Now this may be a bit of a random purchase, however I thought it would be great for festivals or days when its lashing it down and I still want people to see my outfit. Plus it was only £13 considering last year Topshop were selling them for I think £20+.

I wore this jumper in a recent outfit post and love love love it! I'm pretty sure it was about £10 which is perfect considering you can wear it in any season as it is warm enough to wear now, but light enough for the summer. The colour is also great for spring/summer.

I fell in love with this dress when I saw it hiding in a corner. It's just so cute I can't even deal! I love the pattern, the length, just everything. It's so boho and perfect for summer.

My final buy from Primark is this jumper I picked up for £5 in their sale. Yes, I said sale. It looks so much more than it is and would look great with some ripped black skinnies, leather trousers or even a denim buttoned up skirt. I think the colours go perfect together and I'm weirdly excited about a jumper.

This jacket is so 70's boho vibe, I love. I bought this from Missguided's sale and it was £14.99. I bought a size 10 so I'd be able to wear something thicker underneath. I think the colour, the suede and fringing is a wonderful way to wear the 70's trend.I can't wait for it to be a bit warmer so I can wear it.

OOTD - Sports Luxe

Hello everyone.

Can we just talk about the snow for a second? Now, in Milton Keynes we've managed to avoid the snow the past few weeks until last night. I didn't even know it had snowed until my dad was going to bed and told me to look out the window.

Anyway, moving on. Today is an outfit post featuring my mum's beautiful camel coat that well, I've stolen from her all winter. She bought it from Paul Costello over 20 years ago but she doesn't wear it too often, so I thought I'd wear it for her.

Underneath this beaut coat, I'm wearing my Green Bay Packers jumper I picked up for about £5 from a vintage shop in Birmingham 3 years ago. I thought I'd wear it seeing as I got really into the Super Bowl on Sunday and stayed up until 3:30am watching it. Weirdly enough I actually enjoyed it even though I had no idea what was going on and was mainly watching it for Katy Perry's performance, which was AMAZING!

Anyway, I wore these super cute baby pink tailored trousers I bought in the M&S sale in the summer and popped on my new favourite croc boots from Schuh. 

I finished the look with my pastel blue backpack I bought from Topshop last year. I love wearing double pastel shades, it really gets me in the mood for spring/summer.

January Favourites

Hello everyone.

Sorry I've haven't posted in a while, I had some personal things going on so had no time.

January went super fast didn't it? It is literally going to be June before we know it. 

So here are my January favourites...

My first favourite in the month of January is REN's Micro Polish Cleanser. I actually first came across this when I bought a REN gift set after Christmas. It came as a little sample size and I loved it so much I bought a normal size one the other day. It leaves your skin really soft and gives a good exfoliation without being harsh.

A second favourite of mine has been Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream. I was bought this as one of my Christmas presents from my mum and dad and I'm in love. It smells amazing and the bottle is beautiful.

Now this next product was in my favourites a few months ago. It is Lush's H'suan Wen Hua hair mask. I only use it every 3 weeks maybe longer if I don't have the time to sit and wait 20 minutes, but it is the best hair mask I've EVER used. It just makes my hair feel really soft and looks so shiny! 

Another favourite in January was the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre moisturiser. I've been using this moisturiser since September I think, and its definitely the best moisturiser I've used. I've wanted to try it for maybe a year before I bought it after seeing the Pixiwoo girls using it and I just always forgot. It gives a really good base to apply your foundation on and I have dry areas on my skin and it works wonders for it.

My final monthly favourite is Moroccan Argan Oil. Now I've been using this same bottle since October 2012 (yes I remember the exact month and date). It has just lasted forever! I don't know if thats bad that I'm still using the bottle I bought two and a half years ago. I used to only use it before I blow dried my hair to then straighten it however, the last few weeks I've been using it instead of moose when I have my hair natural and its been lovely.
